Anglesey Abbey – a National Trust property, but it gets a special mention because of it’s inspirational winter planting

Cambridge University Botanic Garden – small, but well worth a visit, particularly in the winter – not far from Anglesey Abbey, it’s worth visiting both together.

Edinburgh Botanic Gardens – a must-see whenever I’m in Edinburgh

Great Dixter – the former home of Christopher Lloyd in East Sussex

Kew Gardens – beautiful gardens to visit, as well as the base for vital botanical research

National Garden Scheme – local gardens open for charity

National Trust – well known for it’s many houses and gardens

National Trust for Scotland – conserving houses and gardens north of the border

Royal Horticultural Society – gardens to visit, plus advice for gardeners and regular shows

Sissinghurst Castle – another National Trust property, but worth of a special mention
